Securitize Advances Asset Tokenisation Frontier
Securitize has advanced its integration capabilities, reinforcing the growing intersection of traditional finance and blockchain technology

Securitize, a platform for tokenising real-world assets, has integrated with Zero Hash to enable qualified institutions to convert USDC to USD for investment in BlackRock's USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund (BUIDL).

Founded in 2017, Securitize's platform transforms traditional investments into digital tokens. The company leverages blockchain technology to create digital representations of assets including real estate holdings, private equity stakes and bond instruments.

Securitize's approach to tokenisation aims to increase fractional ownership opportunities and enhance liquidity in traditionally illiquid markets. The company's technology covers digital security operations including issuance, management, trading and regulatory compliance.

Carlos Domingo, Co-founder and CEO of Securitize, says: “The introduction of the integration feature between USDC to USD to allow investors to subscribe into BUIDL has been in high demand since the launch and we expect this will further accelerate adoption of the fund.

“As we drive the digitisation of capital markets through tokenization, we are creating an ecosystem that will ensure a smooth and efficient transaction process that is natively on chain.”

Market Growth and Challenges

Market projections suggest significant growth in the tokenisation sector, with some estimates indicating a potential market size of US$16tn by 2030.

Securitize is positioning itself at the forefront of this growth charge, establishing partnerships with financial institutions to tokenise various asset classes. It it these collaborations which indicate a growing acceptance of tokenisation technology within traditional finance.

However, challenges remain. Regulatory uncertainty in many jurisdictions continues to pose obstacles for tokenisation platforms. The complexity of integrating blockchain technology with existing financial systems also presents technical hurdles.

Securitize's ongoing efforts to integrate with various financial infrastructure providers demonstrate the company's commitment to addressing these challenges.

By facilitating the conversion between different forms of digital and traditional currencies, the company aims to streamline the movement of assets in the digital economy.

Industry Impact and Future Outlook

Securitize's developments come at a time when the financial industry is increasingly exploring blockchain-based solutions.

The company's platform could particularly benefit private markets, where liquidity has traditionally been a challenge. By tokenising assets such as private equity or real estate, Securitize potentially opens up these investments to a broader range of investors.

However, the success of this approach depends on widespread adoption by both issuers and investors. Securitize's ability to attract major players in the financial industry suggests growing institutional interest in tokenised assets.

This is why the regulatory landscape will play a crucial role in the development of this sector. As governments and financial regulators grapple with the implications of tokenised assets, companies like Securitize will need to traverse an adapting regulatory environment.

Domingo concludes: “We are continuously working to enhance our platform's capabilities to meet the evolving needs of both traditional financial institutions and blockchain-native firms.”
