Alipay Financial Services, established by Alibaba Group in 2004, is a major financial services and mobile payment platform offering a broad range of services beyond only mobile payments. Its mission statement is to make financial services more inclusive and accessible to individuals and small businesses worldwide.

A lot of people thought it was an impossible mission, because the Hong Kong population was very comfortable with spending using credit cards or Octopus cards, and it was going to be quite difficult for them to take up a digital wallet, as that was something entirely new. However, with “nothing is impossible” as my motivational motto, I never thought of giving up.
