Kaushik GD, Head of Financial Services at Snowflake

Kaushik GD, Head of Financial Services at Snowflake

Kaushik GD is the Head of Financial Services at Snowflake.

Here, he supports customers’ transition to the Snowflake AI Data Cloud and develops the financial services business across the Asia Pacific Japan region.

Kaushik has been in financial services for around 20 years and has acquired experience across sell-side, consulting, buy-side and wealth management.

He joined Snowflake in July 2024 after working for Natwest. Here, he was MD and held a dual responsibility of leading ESG data solutions for all business verticals across Netwest and leading the Data AI adoption strategy. 

Kaushik has held several leadership roles, such as leading enterprise migration strategy for capital market trades & data warehouses, leading department for cutting-edge valuation & acquisition models for venture funds and delivering industry-leading customer-facing data apps.

He also has an MBA from IE Business School in Spain.

At FinTech LIVE Singapore, Kaushik will feature on the AI in FinTech panel. This panel discussion will explore how AI is transforming the fintech industry by improving risk management, fraud detection and personalised financial services through machine learning and advanced data analytics.

Samarth Bansal, General Manager, Wise Platform, APAC

Samarth Bansal, General Manager, Wise Platform, APAC

Samarth Bansal is responsible for driving the growth of Wise platform - Wise’s infrastructure offering to enterprises and banks in the region - as the General Manager of the Wise platform for APAC.

Before joining the organisation, Samarth worked for several roles in fintechs in the B2B cross-border payments space, including Nium.

He has extensive expertise in the collaboration between banks and fintechs to drive a frictionless and resilient payments ecosystem.

At FinTech LIVE Singapore, Samarth will leverage his extensive experience to deliver a fireside chat.

Dan Sleep, SVP Digital Assets and Financial Markets, APAC at Northern Trust   

Dan Sleep, SVP Digital Assets and Financial Markets, APAC at Northern Trust

Dan Sleep is the Senior Vice President of the Digital Assets and Financial Markets Team for the APAC region at the Northern Trust. 

He is responsible for identifying innovation operating structures and revenue opportunities and assessing the impact of market and regulatory infrastructure change to the Northern Trust’s operating model.

Dan also informs and executes the bank;’s strategy in response to innovative initiatives, like digital & crypto assets, AI and blockchain, FinTech developments and market access strategies. 

He joined Northern Trust in 2010 and has since worked in several change management leadership roles in the EMEA region before moving to Singapore in 2015.

Dan also has a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance and has professional qualifications as a PRINCE2 practitioner and is a certified Business Analyst under IIBA.

At FinTech LIVE Singapore, Dan will feature on a joint fireside alongside Boon-Hiong Chan, Industry Applied Innovation Lead & Head APAC Market and Technology Advocacy, Securities Services at Deutsche Bank, that will explore the institutional adoption of digital assets in APAC.

Maxim Afanasyev, Head of Financial Services Industry for JAPAC, Global Strategic Industries at Google Cloud 

Maxim Afanasyev, Head of Financial Services Industry for JAPAC, Global Strategic Industries at Google Cloud

Maxim is a member of the global Financial Services Industry leadership team at Google Cloud with responsibility for JAPAC region. 

He works closely with leaders at major insurers on best practices in JAPAC and solving their business problems by utilising GenAI, AI/ML, cloud technologies and API management.

As a result of this, Maxim has produced production-ready and repeatable FSI solutions, such as Risk Reg Reporting, Customer Insights Engine, Smart Claims Processing and Agentic space.

He has over 15 years of a proven track record in AI/ML, big data and digital transformations at scale for financial institutions across the world.

Before joining Google Cloud, Maxim was Managing Director heading Data, AI and CRM globally for Standard Chartered Bank.

He also delivered data strategies and AI use cases for Insurers and banks across Europe a McKinsey.

Maxim holds a PhD in Operations, Information and Technology from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

At FinTech LIVE Singapore, Maxim will utilise his wealth of experience to deliver an engaging keynote presentation that will explore the latest data and AI trends in FSI in Japan and globally.
