MineralTree integration eliminates need for finance teams to switch between systems when processing vendor payments through Sage Intacct

Global Payments and Sage have launched an embedded vendor payments solution that operates directly within Sage Intacct, targeting finance teams at small and mid-sized businesses that process accounts payable through the accounting platform.

The solution, branded as Vendor Payments powered by MineralTree, integrates Global Payments’ MineralTree business unit with Sage’s accounting software to enable payment processing without requiring users to access separate systems or maintain additional bank accounts.

Finance teams using Sage Intacct can now initiate ACH transfers, virtual card payments and cheque payments to vendors through their existing bank accounts whilst remaining within the Sage interface. The integration supports direct debit funding, which the companies state reduces settlement times and simplifies reconciliation processes.

MineralTree integration addresses workflow fragmentation issues

The embedded solution targets operational challenges that arise when finance departments use multiple disconnected software platforms to manage vendor payments. Brian Greehan, Head of B2B Solutions for Global Payments, says the integration addresses workflow disruption rather than simply adding convenience features.

“With so many finance teams overwhelmed by disconnected tools, our goal was to embed payments into the software they already use every day,” Brian says. “This offering is about more than convenience. It's about embedding payments seamlessly into the workflow so businesses can operate with more control, speed and confidence at a time when efficiency and cash flow visibility are critical.”

The solution maintains existing Sage Intacct functionality including multi-entity environments, approval workflows, purchase order matching and credit and discount processing. Users receive real-time payment status updates within the Sage interface rather than through separate notification systems.

Key facts
  • Global Payments and Sage have launched Vendor Payments powered by MineralTree, enabling ACH, virtual card and cheque payments directly within Sage Intacct without requiring separate system logins or additional bank accounts.
  • The solution maintains existing Sage Intacct functionality including multi-entity environments and approval workflows whilst providing real-time payment status visibility and cash-back rebates on virtual card transactions.
  • Global Payments positions the integration as a foundation for potential expansion to additional accounting platforms beyond Sage Intacct.

Finance teams can access cash-back rebates on virtual card transactions processed through the integrated system. The companies have designed the onboarding process to minimise implementation time for existing Sage Intacct users.

Sage Intacct users gain single-system payment processing

"Finance teams want simplicity and efficiency – everything in one place,” says Dan Miller, EVP Financials and ERP Division at Sage. “Embedding payments directly into Sage Intacct lets teams seamlessly approve and pay bills without switching systems, creating smoother workflows and freeing time for strategic tasks. This demonstrates how strategic collaboration within our partner ecosystem delivers impactful solutions that drive real results.”

The embedded payments model eliminates synchronisation delays between accounting and payment systems that can occur when finance teams export transaction data from Sage Intacct to process payments through separate platforms. Users can complete the entire accounts payable cycle from invoice receipt through payment completion within Sage Intacct.

The integration processes payments through customers’ existing banking relationships rather than requiring new account opening or banking provider changes. This approach maintains established cash management structures whilst adding payment automation capabilities.

Global Payments positions solution for platform expansion

Global Payments has structured the MineralTree integration with Sage Intacct as a foundation for potential expansion to additional accounting and enterprise resource planning platforms where finance teams manage vendor payments.

The solution operates directly within Sage's Intacct platform

The company operates MineralTree as its dedicated business-to-business payments division, focusing on accounts payable automation and payment processing for commercial customers. MineralTree provides payment processing capabilities that Global Payments positions as combining transaction processing with workflow integration.

The Vendor Payments powered by MineralTree solution represents Global Payments’ approach to embedded finance, where payment processing capabilities integrate directly into existing business software rather than operating as standalone applications.

“This demonstrates how strategic collaboration within our partner ecosystem delivers impactful solutions that drive real results,” Dan says.
