Bitpanda Scores Touchdown with NFL Partnership

Bitpanda Scores Touchdown with NFL Partnership
Crypto giant Bitpanda joins forces with the NFL to capitalise on American football's growing popularity in Europe

Bitpanda, the Vienna-based digital investment platform, has announced a long-term partnership with the National Football League (NFL).

This collaboration, which kicked off at the start of the 2024 season on 5 September 2024, marks a significant milestone for both organisations as they seek to expand their reach and engage with new audiences across Europe.

Bitpanda: Powering European engagement in NFL

The partnership comes at a time when the NFL has been steadily increasing its presence in Europe, particularly in Germany.

Since 2022, the league has hosted regular season games in German stadiums, cultivating a passionate fanbase and leveraging the legacy of major NFL stars in the region.

This growing interest in American football provides fertile ground for Bitpanda's strategic move into sports partnerships.

Eric Demuth, Co-Founder and CEO of Bitpanda, says: “I love football, I love the NFL. Football is a growing sport in Europe that is reaching more and more people more quickly.

“It therefore makes perfect sense for us to enter into a partnership with the NFL. Through this collaboration, we aim to bring the excitement and energy of American football closer to the Bitpanda community.”

Bitpanda users granted exclusive fan experiences

The partnership is set to offer Bitpanda users exclusive fan experiences, including access to the NFL game in Germany, official merchandise and bespoke content.

This approach aligns with Bitpanda's strategy of enhancing user engagement and loyalty through unique offerings that extend beyond its core financial services.

Bitpanda's first major appearance as an NFL partner will be on 10 November at the Allianz Arena in Munich, home to another Bitpanda partner, FC Bayern München.

The game between the New York Giants and Carolina Panthers will showcase the partnership both inside and outside the stadium, marking a significant moment for Bitpanda's brand visibility in the sports arena.

Alexander Steinforth, General Manager of NFL Germany, adds: “We are impressed by the holistic concept with which Bitpanda wants to support football in Germany.

“We feel that the passion for football was the starting point for the partnership, and we want to build all our joint activations on this.”

The collaboration extends beyond stadium presence, with Bitpanda securing media agreements with key NFL broadcasters including RTL, DAZN and BelN. These deals ensure that Bitpanda's brand will be prominently featured across NFL coverage in Europe.

Bitpanda will also work with NFL legends Sebastian Vollmer and Markus Kuhn, two of the league's leading commentators in Europe, to create exclusive content throughout the season.

A bold marketing strategy

This move into sports partnerships represents a significant shift in Bitpanda's marketing strategy. As a fintech company operating in a highly competitive and rapidly evolving sector, Bitpanda's alliance with the NFL could provide a crucial edge in user acquisition and brand recognition.

The partnership allows Bitpanda to tap into the NFL's established fanbase, potentially converting sports enthusiasts into users of its digital investment platform.

It offers Bitpanda a chance to differentiate itself in a crowded fintech market and reach a broader audience. For the NFL, the collaboration provides additional momentum for its European expansion efforts and access to a tech-savvy demographic through Bitpanda's user base.

As the 2024 NFL season approaches, all eyes will be on how this unique partnership unfolds.

Eric Demuth concludes: “By combining our cutting-edge technology with the NFL's global reach and passionate fanbase, we're creating ground-breaking experiences that will resonate with both American football fans and investors. This is just the beginning of what we believe will be a game-changing partnership.”
