Dojo wins Payment Technology Award at the Global FinTech Awards 2024

Dojo has won the Payment Technology Award at The Global FinTech Awards.

Dojo, a fintech company launched in 2020, has rapidly established itself as a key player in payment technology.

The company delivers seamless and secure transactions through its multi-cloud-native platforms.

With over 150,000 customers, Dojo processes more than 171 million transactions annually, equating to nearly 4,000 payments per minute. This high throughput is supported by an impressive 99.99% uptime, underpinned by active load balancing across top-tier cloud providers like AWS and Google Cloud.

Dojo’s flagship product, Dojo Go, is a portable card machine designed for ease of use, offering real-time transaction insights, simple refunds and EPOS integration. With its robust mobile connectivity and WiFi capabilities, Dojo Go ensures that merchants can process payments even in challenging internet environments.

A standout feature is the next-day pay-out service, available seven days a week, which has significantly improved cash flow for 69% of its business clients.

The Global FinTech Awards 2024

Dojo was one of the first providers to offer payouts on weekends and bank holidays, further enhancing the financial agility of businesses.

Security is another cornerstone of Dojo’s offering. Its card machines employ point-to-point encryption and strong customer authentication, safeguarding sensitive payment data and helping businesses easily achieve PCI compliance.

The company's commitment to security is further evidenced by its leadership in the industry, with Dojo’s Chief Information Security Officer, Naveed Islam, serving on the advisory board for the Cyber Resilience Centre in London.

Dojo continues to innovate, with recent product launches such as Dojo Pocket—a compact, mobile card machine—and the introduction of Tap to Pay on iPhone, which allows businesses to accept contactless payments directly from their iPhones. These innovations streamline payment processes for both businesses and customers, solidifying Dojo’s position at the forefront of the payment technology industry.

Highly Commended: Mangopay & Facia

Mangopay and Facia are both making significant strides in payment technology, offering innovative solutions that address the evolving needs of businesses and consumers.

Mangopay has built a robust payment infrastructure designed for platform businesses, enabling seamless, modular payment processes.

Specialising in multi-party platforms, such as Vinted and Mobile.de, Mangopay’s e-wallet solution simplifies complex payment flows by allowing funds to be held, split and disbursed between multiple buyers and sellers.

Its technology supports a wide range of needs, including pay-ins, payouts and currency exchange, with an integrated fraud prevention solution driven by AI.

The company’s success is reflected in its processing of over €100 billion in transactions, alongside its compliance with both EU and UK regulatory standards.

One standout partnership is with Wallapop, where Mangopay facilitated a transformation of their payment infrastructure, increasing pay-ins by 100% and boosting user onboarding to 25,000 users weekly.

This advanced solution has been critical in helping platforms scale while maintaining security and customer trust.

Facia, meanwhile, is disrupting the payment industry with its innovative “pay-with-face” technology.

By using facial verification to authenticate payments, Facia eliminates the need for physical cards or manual entry of credentials.

This offers an enhanced level of security, protecting against credential theft and fraud, while improving user convenience.

Facia’s NIST-certified liveness verification ensures a 0% false acceptance rate, making it an ideal solution for both online and in-person payments.

The process is quick - under a second - reducing waiting times by 95% compared to traditional card payments.

Facia’s zero-trust architecture and strict data privacy protocols further safeguard sensitive payment information, positioning it as a key player in the future of biometric payment technology.

Both companies are revolutionising how payments are made, bringing efficiency, security and innovation to the forefront of the payment landscape.
