On 22 October 2024, the inaugural Global FinTech Awards took place, as a platform to spotlight the incredible achievements of businesses, individuals and start-ups in the industry. 

The awards, which took place at the end of day one of FinTech LIVE London Global Summit, recognised the importance of fintech practices in business success and sparked the inspiration for greater change in the future.

The Global FinTech Awards

Across 12 categories, the awards spotlighted the inspirational achievements in banking, digital payments and sustainability that have been attained by trailblazers in the fintech industry. 

The ‘FinTech LIVE London Awards Highlight Interviews’ captures the spectacular atmosphere of the awards ceremony, including our award winners, captivated audience and stage host, Neil Perry, Group Broadcast Director at BizClik.

FinTech Magazine is honoured to congratulate its winners and explore the triumphant thoughts of several of the winners who received an achievement below:

Kristina Chapleo, Head of Success and Partnerships at Chaser - AI in FinTech Award

Accounting software company, Chaser, received the AI in FinTech Award for its innovative use of AI and automation to help organisations protect their revenue and reduce late payments. 

The organisation has developed several AI-driven features, including payer rating, a late payment predictor and recommended chasing times. All of these features strive to eliminate the pain points associated with the issue of late payments and streamline credit control processes.

Collecting the award, Kristina Chapleo, Head of Success and Partnerships at Chaser, focused on the human impact the organisation’s work in AI has and explained how: “It is really exciting. We use AI to help people save time from their credit control processes, so it has a real human difference on people’s daily working lives.”

Alex Taylor, Head of Sales at Mangopay - Fraud & ID Verification Award 

Mangopay, a financial technology company that aids marketplaces and platforms to deal with their online payments, was awarded the Fraud & ID Verification Award in recognition of its innovative work to leverage machine learning and advanced AI to protect transitions in real-time.

The organisation detects fraudulent activity with ease due to its span of advanced technology and ability to uncover unique data such as network activity, software patterns and device behaviour. 

As a result of this, Mangopay can obstruct fraud almost instantly by delving into real-time behavioural patterns instead of static data and staying informed of the latest fraud tactics.

Receiving the award, Alex Taylor, Head of Sales at Mangopay, celebrated the organisation’s success in fraud prevention, explaining how: “It feels great - it feels good to be recognised. The event today has been really cool with lots of great speakers.”

“A couple of years ago, we acquired a fraud prevention business and brought that into the wider Mangopay product stack.

“It’s fantastic that the progress of our teams and the value we are delivering to customers has been recognised.”
