FinTech LIVE Dubai – HSBC’s CIO Keynote
Taking to the virtual stage, Linoy Kidd, CIO of Markets & Securities Services (MENAT) at HSBC opened FinTech LIVE Dubai with a keynote panel on how to build high-performing teams.
Cultivating high-performing teams
Starting her keynote by discussing a trilogy of historical leaders like Churchill, Gandhi and Martin Luther King, Linoy highlights impactful leadership traits and her personal experiences.
Such experiences include managing global teams and building schools in Africa and Mexico, and how she draws on leadership inspiration from community work and applies it to corporate leadership.
“I want to illustrate to you how I bring synergies between my corporate community life and how that builds high performing teams [...] So what I've done over the nine years of doing that is taking the best of that leadership and brought it into cultural life."
Linoy emphasises the need to lead by example when cultivating high-performing teams and fostering teamwork. She also stresses the need to ensure clarity in roles and matching skill sets effectively to maintain morale.

Linoy discusses the importance of leadership responsibility and impact, highlighting empathy and continuous learning as core principles.
She also notes the significance of leaving a positive legacy as a leader and the profound impact community initiatives have on personal and professional growth.
"When you bring people together, you can do amazing things. And I really believe that when you do bring people together that anything is possible,” said Linoy.
