Meet the French Procurement Leaders at AXA & BNP Paribas

In the French fintech and corporate landscape, procurement stands at the core of value creation.
Whether in energy, finance, retail or insurance, procurement leaders manage complex global supply chains while aligning with business goals, technology trends and environmental standards.
At five of France’s most powerful firms – EDF, TotalEnergies, Carrefour, BNP Paribas and AXA – procurement leaders not only influence operational decisions but also shape future-facing strategies around sustainability, resilience and supplier engagement.
Global procurement at TotalEnergies
Stéphane Cambier serves as Chief Procurement Officer at TotalEnergies, one of the largest energy companies in the world.
Headquartered in Courbevoie near Paris, TotalEnergies operates across oil, gas, power and chemicals. As a vertically integrated multinational, it ranks among the top global firms by revenue.
With more than 24 years at the company, Stéphane leads TotalEnergies Global Procurement (TGP), which provides procurement services across all branches and affiliates. His team consolidates purchasing activities, enhances performance and simplifies procurement for internal partners.
Their work supports broader transformation aims, aligning with TotalEnergiesâ sustainability goals. The company follows a Sustainable Procurement roadmap, which sets out ESG criteria for sourcing.
Stéphane's focus is on building an efficient, transparent and responsible supply chain to reinforce the company's competitiveness.
Industrial scale at EDF
ĂlectricitĂ© de France (EDF), headquartered in Paris, is one of the world's largest electric utility firms, with core operations in nuclear energy.
Leading the companyâs procurement and supply chain is Alain Tranzer, EDFâs Group Senior Executive Vice President in charge of Engineering and Supply Chain Management.
Alain is a graduate of École Polytechnique and École des Mines de Paris. His early career at PSA Group included engineering the Peugeot 407 and directing development for the Peugeot 208 and 2008. He also took responsibility for autonomous, electric and hybrid platforms, bringing expertise in complex, large-scale technical projects.
Since 2020, Alain has led EDF’s "excell" programme, which strengthens industrial quality and project governance across nuclear initiatives.
His remit extends to the supply chain directorate, integrating procurement, production and delivery of goods and services. His engineering background also shapes EDF’s procurement function, with a focus on efficiency, compliance and project precision.
Responsible procurement at BNP Paribas
In the financial sector, BNP Paribas holds a dominant position, with global operations in banking, investment and asset management.

He brings extensive procurement experience, including roles at Atos SE, Altis Semiconductor and Alcan.
Enguerrand started his career in 1998 at Valeo as Commodity Procurement Manager and progressed into IT and infrastructure roles.
Since then, he has secured BNP Paribas its first Supplier Relations & Responsible Procurement (RFAR) Certification. This French standard recognises companies for sustainable sourcing and balanced supplier relations.
Following the achievement, he said: "This Certification is a testimony to our exemplary efforts and our credibility as a bank committed to our stakeholders. Over the years, we have worked with our suppliers to standardise our practices, improve efficiency and promote a more responsible economy."
His approach shows how procurement can support corporate responsibility in finance, embedding sustainability into supplier frameworks and contractual terms.
