Siva Padisetty, Chief Technology Officer for GitLab

GitLab has announced the appointment of Siva Padisetty as its new Chief Technology Officer, taking over the mantle from Sabrina Farmer.

Siva joins the DevSecOps platform following a successful tenure as CTO at New Relic. During his time there, he was credited with leading the transformation of the company’s monolithic architecture into modern, modular cloud services.

Bill Staples, CEO of GitLab notes the importance of Siva's background: “Siva is the engineer's CTO. He's spent his career building and scaling some of the most critical infrastructure platforms in the industry, including systems that manage millions of instances and foundational tools that enterprises rely on every day.

“That experience will be invaluable as we continue building GitLab into a generational company and delivering on our vision of intelligent orchestration for DevSecOps."

This technical overhaul was a key factor in scaling the business to over US$1bn in revenue.

His career also includes significant leadership roles at major technology providers; he spent eight years at AWS, where he served as GM of Cloud Management, and 18 years at Microsoft.  Across these roles, he built and operated some of the world’s largest distributed systems and services.

In his new position at GitLab, Siva will lead the software engineering, operations and customer support teams.

Siva comments: “The real opportunity with AI isn't just faster code, it's a smarter software development lifecycle. GitLab's end-to-end platform makes that possible.

“Throughout my career, I've focused on building systems that improve the developer experience while helping them maintain the security and reliability needed to ship software at scale.”

He is tasked with executing the company’s technical vision and overseeing the development and delivery of products.

Sid Sijbrandij, GitLab Co-founder and Executive Board Chair, adds: “Siva brings deep technical expertise and a track record of building platforms at scale.

“He's built systems that developers actually want to use while meeting the demands of enterprise customers, and he's done it at a billion-dollar scale. The board looks forward to working with him as GitLab enters its next phase of growth.”

ACI Worldwide, a long-standing innovator in global payments technology, has appointed JP Krishnamoorthy to lead its Global Technology & Innovation organisation.

Joining the firm as Chief Innovation & Technology Officer, JP assumes full leadership of the technology function as ACI accelerates its transition towards smarter payments orchestration and embedded AI capabilities.

His remit focuses on improving time to market for banking, biller and merchant clients, who collectively process trillions in annual transaction volume.

JP transitions to ACI from Coupa Software, where he served as Executive Vice President of Engineering, AI, Cloud Operations and Cybersecurity. During his tenure at Coupa, he was instrumental in platform modernisation and pioneered ‘Community.ai’, an initiative that utilised machine learning to extract operational intelligence from large-scale customer transaction data.

His career also includes significant technical contributions at Oracle and Portal Software.

As JP takes the helm, Abe Kuruvilla, who served as Chief Technology Officer since 2023, will be leaving the company.

Under Abe’s leadership, ACI successfully achieved General Availability for ACI Connetic and Speedpay One. He was also responsible for the implementation of Fed ISO 20022 and SWIFT Hybrid Address regulatory mandates, while strengthening the broader technology leadership team.

Tom Warsop, CEO of ACI Worldwide, notes the importance of the appointment during a “critical modernisation phase” for the company.
