ACI Worldwide Launches Cloud Payments Platform Connetic
ACI Worldwide integrates major payment networks into unified hub as banks face pressure to modernise infrastructure

ACI Worldwide has launched ACI Connetic, a cloud-native payments platform that consolidates multiple payment processing systems into a single hub.

The platform integrates Swift cross-border payments, RTGS payments (real-time gross settlement systems that process high-value transactions instantly) including Target2, SEPA Instant RT1 and TIPS payments.

The NASDAQ-listed payments technology company announced the platform at EBAday in London, positioning it as a response to increasing complexity in the payments landscape.

Target2 is the European Central Bank's real-time settlement system, while SEPA Instant processes euro payments across Europe within seconds.

ACI Connetic combines account-to-account transfers, card payments and AI-driven fraud prevention on one platform.

Account-to-account payments allow direct transfers between bank accounts without intermediary payment processors, a method that has gained traction as an alternative to card-based transactions.

The platform addresses calls from research firm Datos Insights for banks to centralise payment processing operations.

The Datos report highlighted that centralised systems enable banks to streamline operations, reduce complexity and enhance efficiency.

Platform targets banks seeking modernisation

Financial institutions can use ACI Connetic to consolidate existing payment systems that typically operate in isolation.

The platform offers modular design and open APIs (application programming interfaces that allow different software systems to communicate), which the company says simplifies integration with existing bank infrastructure.

ACI Worldwide has secured partnerships with clearing and settlement systems including the Bank of England, Pay.UK, the European Central Bank, EBA Clearing and Stet.

The company also works with Swift, the Federal Reserve and The Clearing House to integrate their payment capabilities into the platform.

Thomas Warsop, CEO, ACI Worldwide

Thomas Warsop, President and CEO, ACI Worldwide, says the platform represents a new approach to payments transformation.

“ACI Connetic is not just a new product, it is a new standard for how banks must operate in the digital economy and approach payments transformation,” Thomas says.

The platform's cloud-native architecture means it operates entirely in cloud computing environments rather than traditional on-premises data centres. This approach typically offers greater scalability and reduced infrastructure costs compared to legacy systems.

European and US banks adopt platform

Financial institutions in Europe and the United States have already begun implementing ACI Connetic. The platform targets banks of varying sizes, though ACI Worldwide suggests it particularly suits institutions seeking rapid modernisation without compromising enterprise capabilities.

Scotty Perkins, ACI Worldwide

Scotty Perkins, Head of Product for Banking and Intermediaries at ACI Worldwide, says the platform addresses demand for faster payment processing. “We built ACI Connetic to give banks a future-proof foundation to meet the ever-increasing demand for faster, smarter and secure payments."

“Built for scalability, intelligence and resilience, ACI Connetic empowers banks to reduce complexity, accelerate product innovation and deliver new solutions to their customers in an unprecedented way and at unprecedented speed,” Scotty concludes.
