Tom Burton, Director of External Affairs & Public Policy at GoCardless

Tom Burton is the Director of External Affairs & Public Policy at GoCardless. During his role, Tom ensures the organisation is working with key external stakeholders that will allow GoCardless to positively impact the regulatory environment and policy. In addition to this, he also leads the organisation’s work in analysing external engagement and policy issues.

For over a decade, Tom has specialised in public affairs within finance and banking. Throughout his career, Tom has held roles at Barclays, as its Vice President of Government Relations and at Klarna, as its Head of Public Policy and Strategy.

At FinTech LIVE London, Tom will be featuring on our Open Banking panel, alongside Huw Davies, Co-Founder and CTO of Ozone API, Henk Van Hulle, CEO of Open Banking and Nick Corrigan, President International of Global Payments Inc.

During the panel discussion, the speakers will delve into the incredible potential Open Banking possesses. Through the conversation, explore how adopting openness can unlock incredible growth and further enhance services, whilst also uncovering the evolving field of collaboration, competition and customer experience.
