Southern Europe BNPL solution Scalapay has partnered with payments platform PPRO to simplify flexible payment options in western Europe

Merchants and payment service providers will be offered Scalapay through PPRO’s platform, enabling faster and simpler access to BNPL.

Local payment methods will be seamlessly managed through Scalapay.

An example of a popular method includes prepaid cards in Italy. The integration ensures that there continues to be a high acceptance rate for local methods in addition to a frictionless user experience.

As BNPL grows in popularity in Southern Europe, Scalapay has shown that it can help merchants increase average order value by 48%.

Additionally results have shown that conversion rates have improved by 11%, with further data pointing to 63% of users repurchasing in three months.

Scalapay will be available to a broader network of platform service providers through the partnership.

Simone Mancini, CEO at Scalapay, says: “Our merchants see real results, higher conversion, bigger baskets, more new customers and customers coming back. But what excites me most is what it means for consumers: access to credit that’s simple, fast and fair.

“Partnering with PPRO lets us bring this to more merchants across Europe, which ultimately means helping more people manage their purchases on their terms.”

How is PPRO growing businesses?

The payment platform helps payment service providers and businesses grow through enabling customers to pay with local payment methods.

A single connection is all that is needed for PPRO to activate, accept and manage local payments.

Scalapay is now live on the platform, aiming to continue the goal of simplifying global expansion for e-commerce businesses in Southern Europe. A wide range of merchants will now benefit from access to the platform.

Motie Bring, CEO at PPRO, notes: “Growing in fast-evolving e-commerce markets requires access to the right local payment solutions.

“Scalapay is a strong addition to our ‘Buy Now Pay Local’ offering, giving merchants and PSPs access to a locally relevant BNPL option that supports higher conversion rates and increased basket sizes.

“With millions of active BNPL users in Southern Europe, there is a clear opportunity for merchants to reach a large and engaged consumer base. This partnership reflects PPRO’s mission to help businesses grow by letting their customers pay local.”

Flexible payments are an essential part of e-commerce experience.

Major player in the BNPL space Klarna recently expanded into Europe as the swedish fintech capitalises on its reputation as a BNPL to position itself as a leading global bank.

Instant peer-to-peer payments were launched earlier this month across 13 European countries.

This strategic expansion represents the next phase in the evolution of the firm as it seeks to displace traditional retail banks by integrating more utility into its ecosystem.
