People Moves: Boriana Tchobanova, COO, Zilch
Zilch has strengthened its executive team with the appointment of Boriana Tchobanova as Chief Operating Officer, bringing two decades of Fortune 100 experience to the rapidly growing fintech.
Boriana joins from American Express Global Business Travel, where she served as Chief Transformation Officer and led the company's post-pandemic recovery and transformational M&A activities, culminating in a successful multi-billion-dollar IPO in 2022.
The appointment comes as Zilch continues its remarkable growth trajectory, having doubled revenues to Ā£110m (US$147.9m) for the year ending March 2025 - marking a fourth consecutive year of 100% growth.
The London-based fintech has been recognised as EMEA's fastest-growing tech unicorn by Deloitte and ranked as the UK's fastest-growing US$1bn+ fintech by both the Financial Times and The Sunday Times.
Prior to her recent role, Boriana spent nearly 15 years with American Express across multiple senior positions in strategy, transformation and operations, including serving as COO of the company's digital business.
Her extensive experience in scaling large financial services operations makes her ideally positioned to support Zilch's next phase of growth.
In her new role, Boriana will work closely with CEO Philip Belamant and business line leaders to drive operational excellence, transformational change and strategic delivery.
She will focus on delivering major initiatives that support organisational growth, unlock new revenue opportunities and improve operational efficiencies as the company prepares for potential future listing and continues building its position among global finance's most significant players.
