Building on success

Under outgoing CEO Alex Mollart's leadership, the bank has established itself as a standout player in the UK's digital banking landscape, managing over £1.5bn (US$2bn) in assets and maintaining close to 40% of its lending portfolio in green finance.

Chandler's track record includes his most recent role as CEO of digital bank Aion Bank, where he successfully orchestrated the company's sale to UniCredit Group—one of Europe's largest fintech exits in 2025.

His extensive background spans eCommerce, retail finance and technology leadership roles, positioning him ideally to accelerate Tandem's next phase of expansion.

The transition reflects Tandem's strategic focus on customer-centric banking whilst championing environmental sustainability. The bank's mission centres on making greener lifestyles more accessible and affordable for UK consumers, combining competitive financial products with meaningful environmental impact.

This dual purpose has resonated strongly with customers, evidenced by the bank's award-winning customer service recognition and consistent growth in green lending portfolios.

Chairman Paul Pester emphasised Chandler's alignment with Tandem's ambitious vision, highlighting his unique combination of technological expertise and banking acumen as instrumental for the bank's continued success.
