Ed Patrick, Head of Business Alignment and Strategy for Technology Division at Legal and General Investment Management
Ed Patrick is the Head of Business Alignment and Strategy for the Technology Division at Legal and General Investment Management.
In his role, Ed is responsible for ensuring alignment with internal clients' immediate needs and future roadmaps and strategies. By partnering with business functions and teams across Technology, Ed helps to ensure time and effort are invested towards key strategic business outcomes.
Ed comes from a distribution and servicing background, with prior industry experience at DWS and BlackRock, where he held global and regional leadership roles.
Ed has also worked as a management consultant.
Here we speak to Ed ahead of the event, where he will take part in the Financial Software Solutions panel.
What inspired you to get involved in the event?
A large part of my role features industry horizon scanning and 'bringing the outside in', so events such as FinTech LVIE are always beneficial.
I've been conscious that it's been several years, and too long, since I was last in a speaker role - this event felt like a great opportunity to participate more meaningfully.
I am really looking forward to our panel sharing insights with many like-minded participants.
Provide an overview of what your panel will focus on.
I am proposing a panel session, focused on sharing 'practical examples of innovation in action'.
We hear a good deal about the opportunities that AI and tokenisation can bring to the asset management community - in this rapidly evolving environment, we are increasingly operating 'beyond PoC', where many lessons are being learned and where tangible benefits are now being realised.
What do you hope to achieve through the event?
Primarily, I hope to stimulate discussions and knowledge-sharing across industry peers, many of whom recognise the mutual value in exchanging insights on common, non-commercially sensitive activities.
What emerging trends do you believe will shape the future of fintech over the next decade?
The trends that interest me the most are those that enable an enhanced client offering.
For example, this could include the opportunity for increased choice through composable finance, to solutions that bring the manager closer to the client, through smarter, AI-driven service engagement.
