Zip and Brex's new partnership will empower global enterprises to accelerate purchasing and tighten financial controls
Brex's global virtual cards seamlessly integrate with Zip's procurement system, creating a unified flow from purchase requests to payment execution

Finance platform Brex has collaborated with procurement orchestration leader Zip to introduce Brex for Zip, a solution integrating Brex's global card capabilities into Zip's procurement workflow.

This partnership aims to offer seamless spend orchestration that addresses the traditional disconnect between procurement requests and payment execution.

This synergy allows enterprises to streamline purchasing, avoid unauthorised expenditures, and gain comprehensive visibility throughout the procurement and spend lifecycle.

Streamlining Business Operations

Businesses today face economic uncertainties, necessitating modern tools to manage costs effectively—particularly concerning high-volume, one-off transactions that pose tracking challenges.

Generally, procurement and payment are handled separately by distinct teams using varied systems, leading to friction such as the need to establish new vendors for single payments. This not only creates unnecessary delays but also results in limited controls and cumbersome tools, which may fail at large scales.

The resulting gaps can quickly escalate, creating financial blind spots, unexpected costs, missed savings opportunities, and potentially increasing the risk of non-compliance.

Reducing Operational Friction

The Brex for Zip initiative addresses these issues by integrating Brex virtual cards within Zip. This integration offers users the ability to make secure vendor payments at each stage of the procurement process—from the initial request through to purchase orders and invoice payments—while maintaining strict control, traceability, and reconciliation throughout the entire procurement lifecycle.

Benefits for Fintech Enterprises

Brex for Zip offers enterprises the ability to:

. Streamline procurement and payment workflows: Implement Brex virtual cards directly within Zip across intake, PO, and invoices for faster, single payments with automated reconciliation. This eliminates unnecessary vendor onboarding for ad-hoc purchases, reducing procurement cycles by removing manual payment procedures.

. Prevent unauthorised spend: Assign unique Brex virtual cards to each request with transaction-level limits, enforcing compliance via Zip's procurement controls. Real-time visibility minimises risks of duplicate payments, fraud, or policy violations—offering more robust control than traditional spend management solutions.

. Enhance global operations using a single card programme: Enable payments in over 30 currencies, reducing the need for time-consuming intercompany transfers. This global capability enhances Zip's payments product, allowing multinational companies to standardise intricate procurement and payment processes worldwide.

. Optimise working capital from procurement spend: Shift vendor payments from ACH to Brex global cards within Zip to gain greater flexibility over payment timing while earning rewards on everyday procurement expenditure and saving on FX fees.

Pedro Franceschi, CEO of Brex, explains: "At Brex, our goal is to empower businesses to spend smarter and move faster. Brex for Zip represents a significant leap forward in achieving that goal by creating a truly unified ecosystem and removing barriers for both finance and procurement leaders—helping them stay more connected than ever."

"By directly integrating Brex's global card into Zip's procurement platform, we're eliminating the friction of outdated systems and giving businesses the visibility, control, and speed they need."
