Zip, a global leader in procurement orchestration platforms, has been secured a spot on the 2025 Forbes Fintech 50 list. This list recognises top financial technology companies that are significantly transforming various industries.

Among the 18 new entrants this year, Zip's recognition follows a significant US$190m Series D funding round which was announced in October 2024.

Upon unveiling the funding, Zip’s Co-Founder and CEO, Rujul Zaparde, expressed the flaws in current corporate procurement systems.

He says: "Procurement is broken, companies are wasting billions of dollars and countless hours navigating byzantine approval processes, dealing with security risks and manually entering data."

Rujul further celebrated his company’s solutions by adding: "Zip has already proven that we can fix that, saving our customers billions of dollars and thousands of hours of time — and our new round of funding will allow us to continue to revolutionise business spending."

Zip's latest financial boost accelerates its mission to transform the manner in which companies manage their interactions with suppliers and oversee corporate expenditure, aiming to establish itself as the international standard for B2B spending.

The infusion of funds is being strategically channelled into a variety of progressive initiatives:

  • Doubling efforts in research and development to enhance Zip's premier in-house software solutions, including the expansion of its highly successful Procure-to-Pay (P2P) product line which has gained widespread adoption by large enterprises such as Northwestern Mutual, Toast, and Coinbase. Moreover, the company plans to explore new product avenues to address emerging market needs.
  • Establishing the Zip AI Lab to spearhead the ongoing development and integration of advanced AI-powered solutions that complement existing enterprise systems, thus improving procurement operations across various organisational teams.
  • Increasing its global presence, especially in the EMEA region, which has already witnessed a 200% growth. Zip plans to use its new London office and enhanced regional workforce to respond to the growing demand in key markets like the UK, Germany, and France.

Orchestration Becomes Essential

Reacting to Zip’s inclusion in Forbes’ Fintech 50, Rujul articulated the significance of this recognition for the procurement field. "Being named to the Fintech 50 validates that procurement orchestration has become essential for modern enterprises," he says.

Rujul highlighted the increased complexities and fraud risks within modern procurement processes and expressed pride in Zip's role.

“As organisations face increasingly complex purchasing processes and rising fraud risks, we're proud to help the world's most innovative companies streamline their operations while maintaining control.”

Zip’s platform is revolutionising procurement

Zip's platform revolutionises procurement by simplifying global enterprise purchasing processes, enhancing spend visibility, and optimising workflows across departments.

How 2024 was all 'Zipped' up

Notable milestones for Zip in 2024 included:

  • Global Expansion: The opening of a new office in London and a 400% increase in the EMEA workforce to address rising demands across the UK, Germany, and France.
