With Fintech Firms Firmly Settled Into 2024, a Host of Freshly-Appointed Executives Have Been Busy Getting to Grips With Their New Roles
Irina Chuchkina

1. Irina Chuchkina

Job From: CMO, Thunes

Job To: CMO, Volt

“Over the next few years, real-time payments will disrupt the status quo and reshape the payment ecosystem”

Volt, the global real-time payments platform, has appointed Irina Chuchkina as its very first CMO. She joins during a significant period of growth for Volt, which secured US$60 million in Series B funding in June 2023, and takes responsibility for the global marketing strategy and building on Volt’s ambitious global expansion plans.

Chuchkina brings almost 20 years worth of experience in the payments space across Europe and Asia. Most recently, she served as CMO at Thunes, the Singapore-based payment infrastructure platform, where she led on global marketing strategy. 

Prior to Thunes, Chuchkina also held senior marketing roles at Visa, Rapyd and Grab, Southeast Asia's super-app. During her time at Rapyd, she led the firm’s go-to-market strategy in the APAC region, as well as global communications.

William Moroney

2. William Moroney 

Job From: MD, Middle East and Africa, Temenos

Job To: President – International, Temenos

William Moroney has been promoted to President – International at Temenos.

Having previously served as MD for the Middle East and Africa, Moroney’s remit has been expanded to include Europe and the Asia Pacific. When combined, these regions represent 57% of the company’s total revenue. 

Moroney has more than 25 years of sales experience and leadership under his belt and joined Temenos in 2020. He previously held senior positions at a number of international banking, technology and outsourcing companies, including Misys, Hewlett Packard and Transguard Group.

Joe Rohrlich

3. Joe Rohrlich

Job From: CEO, Top Hat

Job To: CEO, Recurly

Recurly, the subscription management and recurring billing platform, has welcomed Joe Rohrlich as its new CEO. 

Rohrlich brings a wealth of experience in scaling technology companies and a demonstrated ability to accelerate growth.

Most recently he was CEO at Top Hat, a leading higher education engagement platform.

Patricia Sullivan

4. Patricia Sullivan 

Job From: Global Head of Financial Crime, Deutsche Bank

Job To: Global Head of ICM, Deutsche Bank

Deutsche Bank has promoted Patricia Sullivan to the position of Global Head of Institutional Cash Management (ICM), based in New York. 

Sullivan joined the business in 2021 and successfully built a unit within the corporate bank and investment bank focused on enhanced financial crime and compliance risk management in the first line of defence.

Megan Cooper

5. Megan Cooper

Job From: Chief Product Officer, Barclays

Job To: Chief Product Officer, Clear Bank

ClearBank, the enabler of real-time clearing and embedded banking for financial institutions, has hired Megan Cooper as its new Chief Product Officer.

She joins ClearBank having amassed more than a decade of experience in fintech, including at Barclays and Starling Bank. 

Cooper was named in the Forbes 30 Under 30 in 2018.

Søren Westh Lonning

6. Søren Westh Lonning

Job From: CFO at DANISH ENDURANCE

Job To: CFO at Pleo

Søren Westh Lonning has been appointed as CFO at Pleo.

Lonning has been working with Pleo in an advisory capacity to bolster its financial planning, capital structure and broader commercial efforts.

He joins at a period of high growth for the fintech unicorn, driven by market expansion and investments to win mid-market customers.
