Ripe, a UK-based digital MGA, has made a significant move by appointing Jason Stockwood as a Non-Executive Director. He brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the insurtech company. Jason, a veteran in the technology sector, has an impressive track record with leadership roles at prominent companies such as lastminute.com, match.com, Skyscanner and Travelocity.

Most recently, Jason served as Group CEO and Vice Chairman of Simply Business, demonstrating his prowess in the insurance technology space. His broad expertise in digital strategy, marketing and e-commerce is expected to be invaluable as Ripe aims to scale its operations. Stockwood's appointment follows closely on the heels of Alan Thomas joining as Ripe's new CEO, creating a powerful leadership duo with a shared history at Simply Business.

Beyond his corporate achievements, Jason is actively involved in community development as a Co-Owner of Grimsby Town Football Club. This commitment to social impact aligns well with Ripe's ethos and is expected to bring a fresh perspective to the board. Jason’s role as a Guardian columnist and his involvement with the charity Our Future further underscores his multifaceted approach to business and society.

As an active investor in more than 30 early-stage tech companies through 53 Degrees Capital, Jason brings a keen eye for innovation and growth potential. His previous association with Ripe investor Aquiline Capital Partners LP adds another layer of synergy to this appointment. Both Jason and CEO Alan Thomas have expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, emphasising the potential for innovation in the intersection of technology and insurance.
