Finastra has announced the appointment of Andrew Bateman as its new Executive Vice President of Lending. In this role, Andrew will be responsible for spearheading the growth and leadership of Finastra's Lending Business Unit.

Andrew expressed his enthusiasm at having joined Finastra, highlighting his eagerness to engage with the team, customers and partners to support their technology modernisation efforts. 

He spoke positively about Finastra's Open Finance approach and expressed confidence in the company's offerings, particularly in the areas of generative AI, cloud technology and API strategies.

With almost three decades of experience in financial services, Andrew brings a wealth of knowledge to his new position. His expertise lies in guiding global teams through technological modernisation processes, emphasising technical agility to support customers' growth objectives. 

Notably, Andrew is also committed to promoting inclusion, diversity and sustainability within the industry and is a strong advocate for workplace wellbeing and open communication.

Simon Paris, Finastra's CEO, welcomed Andrew, praising his deep industry knowledge and expressing confidence in his ability to help Finastra's lending customers thrive in an Open Finance environment. Simon also noted that Andrew’s commitment to 'openness' in both technology and communication aligns perfectly with Finastra's vision.

Prior to joining Finastra, Andrew was Head of Sales for Corporates and International Banking at FIS. He will be based in London, bringing his extensive experience to Finastra's operations in the UK capital.
